I'd like to know what the song deals with .I was once told it was about some religious guy ( Mormon ? ) secretly in love with a neighbourhood girl being reduced to single-motherhood by the sudden, unexpected, leaving of her boyfriend ,and ,therefore, offering to help her ( whence the title ) ,and possibly hoping to marry her .Is this the story ,or is there something else to the song ? Keyboards[edit]

Which keyboards were used? The detail on microphones in the article currently makes it read like a sound-recordist's specialist blog! Martinevans123 (talk) 21:26, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This source says:
".. Swan who, contrary to popular legend, didn't perform the distinctive keyboard part of 'I Can Help' on the aforementioned RMI organ purchased by friends Kristofferson and Coolidge, but on the portable Farfisa of Memphis session musician Bobby Emmons." However... some of the text there (about the mics) looks a bit familiar.... Martinevans123 (talk) 22:14, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
