Writing & Productions Credit[edit]

I added Frederick Riesterer in the credits for co-writted and co-produced this track, you can check this out in the official booklet of the album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.50.40.158 (talk) 11:05, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sales[edit]

The reference for the four million+ sales says it has reached approximately 2 million downloads. I've seen data that says that it has reached three million sales on that same blog. Add a reference or I'll delete it.--Francopedorro (talk) 18:11, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Outkast and digital downloads[edit]

Actually, Outkast was the first group to have a digital song be certified platinum, additionally, Hey Ya! spent nineteen weeks dominating the digital chart. Even if The Way You Move didn't dominate the digital chart, it doesn't matter, because the digital era is considered to have started after Soundscan, and therefore Billboard, started tracking digital sales. --Conoceymedio (talk) 00:24, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doesnt matter because according to RIAA website this song has not been certified in the US, last time i checked back in April 2010.Lil-unique1 (talk) 00:27, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is the 'rock' genre acceptable for this song?[edit]

I tried adding rock in the genre section of this song, but it got removed a day later. This song has pop rock qualities and it even plays an electric guitar in the chorus. I don't see why they are removing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by King kong92 (talkcontribs) 06:11, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should we add that Fergie's bare butt is show at one point in the video?--Sergeant Twister 22:31, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Simply having an electric guitar does not qualify a song as "rock".Omarmorek (talk) 06:34, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fergie participating in girl/girl makeout?[edit]

Shouldn't it be mentioned in the description of the video that Fergie makes out with another female in t he clip? (she does, doesn't she?) That seems like somthing that people would want to know about I think.--TiagoTiago (talk) 13:57, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I saw that too. It happens during the party. Jimms @ cooldudie3 (talk) 10:19, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar[edit]

Should the glaringly obvious grammar mistake be mentioned? "Gotta" is a contraction of "got to", meaning the title would read "I Got to Feeling" which doesn't make sense. "Got to" is usually followed by the infinitive form of the verb, not the gerund. --75.36.151.173 (talk) 05:15, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"I gotta feeling" is a contraction of "I've got a feeling..." –xenotalk 22:25, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong. "Gotta" is unequivocally a contraction of "got to"[1][2][3][4], making the title "I Got to Feeling". --71.156.107.2 (talk) 21:14, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard "I gotta" being used like "I have a." It's slang. Are you really going to argue grammar with slang?68.215.175.168 (talk) 00:35, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Late, but you heard "gotta". Try saying "got a" and "gotta" out loud. See if you notice a difference.173.48.243.240 (talk) 15:55, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not what the other editor heard, it's the song's official title! He's saying the song's official title is grammatically wrong, and he's right. tildetildetildetilde

Oprah[edit]

What about that strange Oprah thing in Chicago? I'd like to know more about this, maybe some stuff about it should be included. ([link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIh7vxdVhE4]) Klow (talk) 19:06, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Remix on One Love[edit]

It's OK to mention that a remix of this song is on Guetta's album near the top of the article, but not on the infobox since it's not the original song that is featured on it. If anyone does this, it will be deleted. MatthewWaller (talk) 22:50, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Genres[edit]

I suggest that there is a need to clean the genre section. I've found a loose citation on that it is dancepop, but are there any other citations on a genre? Because it looks like everyone comes to the article and writes in the genre he likes. -- 217.21.43.222 (talk) 10:41, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whos breast?[edit]

The name of the actress/dancer/band member should ofcourse be included in the article. 83.233.92.109 (talk) 09:15, 28 October 2009 (UTC) I don't think it's one of the BEP, just one of the actresses they hired. Jimms @ cooldudie3 (talk) 10:21, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cracked.com[edit]

Cracked.com is a humor website, so anything found on it should be taken with a grain of salt. G-stone was making fun of the song as part of his comedy bit; i don't think this could really be considered a review. By no means am I saying that this shouldn't be included, I'm simply suggesting rewriting it to clarify that G-stone's "scathing review" was part of his comedy routine.

Also, I may be completely wrong and/or an idiot, so feel free to ignore me.

U.S. Billboard Hot Latin Songs[edit]

Is this realy needed? If song is not latin why to add Hot Latin Songs? --SveroH (talk) 10:07, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Charts[edit]

What the hell happened to the charts. It has been number 1 in heaps of countries and the charts are all wrong. They need to be fixed, or updated. 124.182.184.90 (talk) 07:44, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why was my info changed[edit]

I wrote that BEP weren't the fifth but the seventh act to replace themselves on Billboard Hot 100: If you see here, JaRule had a number-one-hit with Ashanti (in "Always on time") and the next song that charted at No. 1 was also from him, namely Ain't it funny with Jennifer Lopez.

And later, Hot in Herre (Nelly) was many weeks on No. 1 and the next No.-1-song was also by him, namely Dilemma (feat. Kelly Rowland).

So what's wrong with that information? --79.216.221.235 (talk) 18:53, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because BEP were the fifth group. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 19:45, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And Usher? He's also a solo singer... --79.216.221.235 (talk) 20:45, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chart performance section question[edit]

Says that the BEP's are the fifth group to replace themselves at #1, then Usher and T.I are listed, they aren't groups! They are solo artists. Mariah Carey has also replaced herself at #1 if Solo artists are being classified are groups now.......calvin999 (talk) 12:43, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

Like virtually every other BEP article, this one is subject to frequent socking, attempting to remove "pop" and add "R&B". Currently, the article lists:

  • Hip house[1] - The source does say "hip-house", though i don't see any real indication of the source's reliability.
  • dance-pop[2] - A clearly reliable source that says "dance-pop".

In the past, a few others have been batted around: pop rock, electronic, rap, pop club/dance, pop-rap[3] All of those cite the same page. While it does list all of them, it is the sidebar of the otherwise reliable allmusic. The sidebar reflects categories/genres automatically assigned by amazon and we generally do not use it.

From all of that, the only genre I see with a clearly reliable source is dance pop. Comments? - SummerPhDv2.0 04:14, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Considering how fired up the socks were about this, I'd have thought one or more would comment. Oh well. I've cut it down to just dance-pop. - SummerPhDv2.0 01:02, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
