Re: Ian Anderson's middle name. Hugh Myddleton came from the Electoral Commission website [1] so it seems fairly legitimate. What's your source for Milhous, out of interest.

Ian Milhous Anderson was the name that was read out by the returning officer at the Uxbridge by Election of 1997 and also appeared in a number of NF publications. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he's used different middle names at different times to his real one (whatever that may be) for reasons of convenience.

Political position?[edit]

This is User: Political Dweeb with a question here. Ian seems to have tried to moderate the political position of the UK National Democrats. However on this Wikipedia page describing Ian says he created a link between himself and the leader of the Nationalist Movement of America called Richard Barrett. Richard seems to be slightly anti-semitic so does this mean that Ian accepts anti semitism or does he oppose it while beliving in the ideological position of being on the National conservative right. I'm not sure it's correct to say that Anderson "tried to moderate the political position of the UK National Democrats"; certainly there is no suggestion of this in this article or in National Democrats (UK). What is certain is that the National Democrats was set up because, as the article says, "the negative connotations of the National Front name were proving a bar to success" and the Nat Dems was simply the NF relaunched (though members of the NF might dispute this). There is no suggestion that ND's policies were less extreme than NF's. As to whether he is anti-semitic, I don't know, but his links with Barrett predate the Nat Dems and it is not necessarily correct to label one person solely on account of his contacts.
