Very impressive[edit]

This article shows what an up-to-date encyclopedia Wikipedia is - it is 22 February 2019 today, and already the article says Austin resigned from the Labour Party in 2019. Vorbee (talk) 16:03, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jewish by adoption?[edit]

It is stated that his father is a Jew but there is no information on his mother. As Ian Austin identifies as a Jew we must assume that his mother is a Jew. Can we have some information on his mother? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.19.7.170 (talk) 22:34, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The article contains no information about Austin's birth mother, and also no suggestion that he considers himself to be Jewish. The man who adopted him and brought him up, together with his adoptive mother, was a Jew who escaped persecution by the Nazis, which presumably explains Ian Austin's aversion to anti-Semitism. All references to his opposition to antisemitism removed?[edit]

Whomever wrote the section on his resignation has a horrendous antisemitic bias. Ian Austin, the adoptive son of Jewish refugees, was an outspoken critic of Jeremy Corbyn entirely over Corbyn's antisemitism. Ian Austin viewed Corbyn as antisemitic, and virulently felt that Corbyn had led the Labour party to become institutionally antisemitic. All references to this have been removed. Not only have Corbyn's supporters denied any antisemitism in Labour, but now they are trying to write-out the scandal from history too?

Could you provide some dates from the article history please, because I've searched and I can't find the phrase "culture of antisemitism" having been in the article, same goes for the Guardian link. Gordon Brown's Parliamentary Private Secretary[edit]

I have changed the link that mentions he was Parliamentary Private Secretary to Gordon Brown to link to the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister article rather the generic Parliamentary Private Secretary article. He was only PPS to Gordon Brown after Brown became Prime Minster and as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister makes clear while the Prime Minister's PPS is a specific role (and one that generally has more responsibilities and power than other PPSs). Good Morning Ian I’m an American I live in California, I read your article “Canada” this morning and it was informative but the last paragraph was not true, your a journalist and you should investigate your claims correct? In that paragraph you relaid a untrue message, the one confederate flag not flags was set up by a left wing liberal probably a democrat and the truckers said on TV on the news they took care of that and same with swastikas!! So you need to correct that statement these folks are regular folks wanting these mandates to end just like 90% of every one!! Er... This is Wikipedia, more exactly this is the talk page of the article about a British politician that has no connection to Canada. Wikipedia does not have journalists or publish news stories.
