The Shrimpers Review of December 1989 has a factfile on Ian Brown, which states that he was born in Ipswich, Jamaica, 11 miles from Montego Bay, and given that it will have been an interview with the man himself, it is most likely correct. I would suggest that the sources giving his place of birth as the Ipswich in England have made a logical, but incorrect, conclusion. HarryJBlack (talk) 11:32, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, it just seems to be too much of a coincidence that he was born in Ipswich in Jamaica and ended up settling near Ipswich in the UK. In this interview with Whitton United (a club in Ipswich), he just gives his birthplace as Ipswich – you'd think he would clarify it was in Jamaica if it had been?
