Photo request[edit]

Sources[edit]

This article does not site sources. There's no evidence that people have ever stored ice in this manner. How much ice would you even need to collect and store in the same place for it not to melt over the long summer months? Texan Usage[edit]

I thought I should clarify why I separated out the paragraph on Texas from the US section. I think the usage in Texas, where an ice house is a bar, is significantly different enough that it deserved to be set off. Yet it is related, historically, to the more general use of "ice house," so still seems to belong here. I actually came here looking for info on the Texan usage (having encountered it in a book), and found the National Public Radio article as a useful source, as there was little here. 99.43.32.160 (talk) 17:46, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for dome roof[edit]

Macon Georgia photo[edit]

A low-quality stereo card image has been placed on this article and I think it should stay, despite not meeting best-practice image standards, because it provides unique information.
