Interstate 355 Extension[edit]

Did I miss something? I just drove I-355 south last weekend and not only is the extention to I-80 not done, it doesn't even look like it's close. Why did it get changed, and why shouldn't it get changed back until it actually is extended? Gws57 15:31, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Split instead of merging[edit]

I'm going to carry out a topic split, since information about the actual Authority should be in its article. --JohnDBuell 02:22, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Illinois Tollway" seems to be a marketing name for the ISTHA - the external link in both articles is the same. [1] is labeled "Illinois Tollway mission statement" but starts "The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority is dedicated...". --SPUI (talk | don't use sorted stub templates!) 03:24, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The complete, formal name is what generally gets used in the news, or other variants, such as "Toll Highway Authority." See [2] (free registration required) or [3] or [4] or [5] Just to be fair, that's three Chicago area newspapers, all using the same full title. However, they do occasionally drop "State" from ISTHA. Jack Hartman, the current ISTHA Executive Director, signed one letter to the editor as "Executive Director, Illinois Tollway." --JohnDBuell 16:36, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
