No longer a neologism[edit]

I notice the addition of a "May be a neologism" tag to the article.

Indeed, 'immersive design' is a term that has come into currency only in the past few years, but it is increasingly used and accepted to describe the form of design that encompasses both game design and the more traditional production design of the film industry.

I've been teaching art direction and production design in film schools at NSCAD [[1]] and NSCC [[2]] for many years and I now routinely use the term 'immersive design' in this context--as do a number of my colleagues.

I think the tag can safely be removed. - D. Mark Laing --OldCommentator (talk) 15:22, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BTW: I completely agree that the article needs a clean-up to bring it to proper encyclopedic standard. It reads a bit like it's trying to sell something. Nevertheless, the term itself is valid. Cheers, --OldCommentator (talk) 15:28, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Neologism tag[edit]

As attested above, this seems to be a common enough term (one million hits on google today) so I have deleted the tag. Moonraker12 (talk) 02:20, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lead sentence[edit]

The lead sentence here starts "Immersive design (Experimental Design) describes design work...": Should that be 'Experiential Design'? Moonraker12 (talk) 02:23, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
