Unbalanced listings[edit]

Do we have to add birth year - death year, in front of every name? And some biographic description. Bladesmulti (talk) 17:34, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

In these edits I cleaned up the article. I removed infoboxes since two of the organisations listed were not unions, yet we were using labor union infoboxes. I also cleaned up the lead, because in February 2019 there was an apparent coup to divert the focus of this article from Indian cinematographers in general to promote the Indian Society of Cinematographers. This is an ongoing problem that I've noticed across a variety of IP addresses, (like 49.*) but I think it's a relatively small group of people. Some of what they're doing is going to not only biographical articles, but also to film articles and stuffing "Indian Society of Cinematographers" and "ISC" into them, often erroneously, like by misusing the |title= parameter of Template:Infobox person. They have never discussed these changes, and it is clearly promotional. For scope, see this report.

I have also reorganised the list of organisations based on when they were founded, with the oldest organisation at the top. It doesn't make sense to me that the Indian Society of Cinematographers, especially given the problematic promotional editing, should be at the top.
