Win XP

it wont run on Win XP. there was a patch for dowmload, but now missing.

Terep 2 link

I stumbled upon this article in a bout of nostalgia madness, and reading it remembered reading around 2003-2004 that 1nsane was essentially the completion of Terep 2. I googled around and I was right! Well, I can't piece together all the info so I'm writing in the talk section. From what I gather it seems that there was a "Terep 1" which was never released, then Terep 2 was developed but the programmer lost interest/money/whatever around 1996 and released what he had as a "demo" (we would call it a tech demo nowadays I guess), I assume to gather funding or find a publisher? Either way by 1999 he joined Invictus Games as per the interview I linked [the last edit] and the two other people in Invictus had the idea to develop Terep 2 into what became 1nsane

Amazingly, there's a fan-site that is still up! It's in estonian though, and doesn't contain the history I was looking for. The third-party Terep Launcher is dated to 1998 though which is interesting. I found a youtube video and by the title I assume it talks about the history. But it's in hungarian and there are no closed captions so I don't understand anything :/

And oh my god the hungarian wiki actually quotes a source with history! I can't believe I missed it! Anyway I was right, Terep 1 did exist, it might have even been available on the internet. And I was right about the tech-demo too! It's kind of insane reading an article from 2005 being nostalgic about 1996, god damn. Most importantly for this wiki article though, the quoted article hints that another hungarian game, Screamer 4x4, might have been inspired by Terep 2 too. It was released in 2000 too, but I think that bit of info would belong in an english translation of the hungarian Terep 2 article better — Preceding
