"Flying spot scanner"[edit]

This is a term that carries entirely misleading connotations, even if German newsreels at the time called it "Abtaststrahl". What was being used was an electro-mechanical TV camera with a spinning Nipkow disk that was doing a crude off-the-wall transfer and rasterized the image into a finite amount of lines. --46.93.158.170 (talk) 06:21, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
