Proposed changes[edit]

Information to be removed: The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is the global trade association of the shopping center and retail real estate industry. Founded in 1957, it features more than 70,000 members in over 100 countries, including shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials. As the global industry trade association, ICSC links with more than 25 national and regional shopping center councils throughout the world

Information to be added: ICSC is the preeminent membership organization serving retail and real estate professionals. ICSC’s programs and services provide members efficient and effective ways to develop relationships, facilitate transactions, share insights and shape public policy and perception. For more information about ICSC visit www.icsc.com.

Explanation of issue: The member count is not accurate.

For a start, the "member count" not being accurate is not a justification for making significant changes which have nothing whatever to do with the "member count". More importantly, the proposed rewrite is pure PR copy. Wikipedia is not a medium for organisations to promote themselves or tell the world what a wonderful job they are doing.
