TYPES OF MOSS DEEMED WORTHY[edit]

I am curious about the criteria for the types of moss saved. Moss of "high scientific" value is chosen to be saved in the moss vault, how does one predetermine that a moss has little or no scientific value? Or is this just an erroneous description? It would seem to defeat the purpose of having a moss depository if some varieties are, for the purposes of this discussion, left to fend for themselves, and they go extinct due to whatever you are protecting the more scientifically important varieties from. In other words, if a variety disappears you won't know if it may have been scientifically important in 5 or 500 years down the road... 2600:1700:8A90:ECF0:C71:99FA:8A36:AE80 (talk) 11:19, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
