Ground models[edit]

Do we have sources for the real life stadiums the in-game grounds are modelled on? -- Hindleyite (talk) 11:19, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ronaldinho Bootleg[edit]

The fact that there was a bootleg translation which has now gained inexplicable notoriety probably should be addressed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a02:c7f:dc08:9000:2d41:24c3:4c1:31d7 (talkcontribs) 07:34, 6 May 2020(UTC)

Internet meme[edit]

There's been a pretty notable bait-and-switch internet meme exploding in popularity as of late, sprung from a Peruvian bootleg of the game made for the Brazilian market. It is known as Mundial Ronaldhino Soccer 64, and the intro is used in videos when it is least expected for comedic value. While previous edits involving it have understandably been reverted, I think we should figure out where in the article it would be the most appropriate to document the internet meme while not taking away from the article on the genuine version of the original game. The Ronaldinho Soccer 64 keeps rising in popularity, to the point of overshadowing the original game's popularity today, so I think it's going to have to be mentioned sooner or later.

I should mention that I think it's also notable I've heard from Brazilian internet users that part of it's notoriety comes from the announcer in the bootleg version saying the title, "Ronaldhino Soccer", if you're familiar with Brazilian Portuguese, is very clearly a native Peruvian Spanish speaker incorrectly trying to speak Portuguese with a thick accent. Many Brazilian Portuguese speakers find this to be very comical. Titanoboa Constrictor (talk) 13:30, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
