16-bit IE?[edit]

"Original Microsoft Internet Explorer only ran on Windows using Intel 80386 (IA-32) processor". I put in Intel 80386. Didn't mean to say it didn't run on AMD or others only not sure that IA-32 is synonymous with 386 and not higher. However IA-32 means 32-bit (including backwards compatible 16-bit). Were there not 16-bit IE binaries not mentioned anywere in Wikipedia? This page should mention all such details? comp.arch (talk) 10:07, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tables are backward[edit]

Most tables on wikipedia are sorted chronologically ascending with the earliest first and the most recent at the end. I'm not sure if that's a guideline or a convention. The tables here are the reverse. I was wondering why. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 20:00, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.
There is deliberately no guideline or convention. Wikipedia makes it a point to avoid worthless laws. Both forms are equally good. Basically, the usefulness of them to you depends whether you were looking for the most recent entry or for the earliest. But again, there is no guarantee that every reader has the exact same need or interest as you.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 21:51, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There actually is a convention, confirm at the film and albums projects as well as most software products, but I get that you're saying WP:IGNORE.
Also, @Codename Lisa:, you're assuming it's my need to have it sorted in a particular order, which is not only incorrect, it's a personal comment and against WP:NPA on the borderline. Please comment on the content on the contributor.
In fact, I was simply wondering why the sort order was selected, but instead of telling me why, you told me, in essence if not in actual words, to f off and die. I get it. Thanks Lisa. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 20:00, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! So much negativity!
No. I did not intent to comment on your person and I am quite sure that I didn't. (I commented on the usefulness.) Everyone comes to Wikipedia to fulfill a need (for information) and there is no shame on having that need and wanting faster information.
And no. I am not saying WP:IGNORE. There is really no global convention and guideline. That' deliberate.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 17:04, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry @Codename Lisa: I'm only interpreting what you wrote. If it comes off as negative, I apologize, it's what I'm seeing. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 00:00, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
