@Lugnuts: Hi. I think the player announced in the squad is the same as Kashif Daud. I have found some details in Yahoo Cricket. I have also checked his FB profile and saw a picture of him playing for Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited cricket team and now lives in UAE. He doesnt seem to play any official cricket in Pakistan since 2014 and the new profile all of a sudden shows him playing since 2020. Note that the dob in the profile as UAE player is missing. CI probably created a duplicate profile just like many players. Also Alishan Sharafu has played T20I before. Thanks Human (talk) 13:41, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for this. I did see the CI profile for Kashif Daud, but wasn't convinced it was the same guy based on his age, but I guess it could be him. Yes, the other person did make a T20I debut, but in those sub-regional Asia qualifier matches, against Iran (!) if I recall. LugnutsFire Walk with Me 13:52, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Lugnuts: Their bowling and batting style matches. And also if you look at his pictures on internet, he does look like someone in his 30s. Most of these players from South Asia migrate to other countries, most in their later ages, to get chance in national teams. Human (talk) 13:59, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just done a bit more digging, and it looks like they are different people. Here's a recent T20 match report, complete with pics of him, and Cricinfo state that the squad "has a youthful look to it, with Aryan Lakra, Alishan Sharafu, Kashif Daud and Adithya Shetty all winning their maiden call-ups". Here's the pics: Pakistan player vs UAE player. LugnutsFire Walk with Me 14:04, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Lugnuts: Comparing those two images doesnt seem reliable as the Pakistan one is more six years old unlike the UAE one which is recent. Also if you look at this image, he seems to be playing for ZTBL, which is coincidentally in 2014. About youthful, I dont think thats the right choice of for describing him.
