Listing newspapers and journals (entire runs, not individual articles or issues)[edit]

Since when do we list entire newspapers and journals (not individual issues or articles) as sources? What possibly use is this to the reader, since the exact same names are already in the references? Who's going to see "The New York Times" and think, hey, I'll go get the entire run of the New York Times and see what it says about Isaac C. Smith? -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:54, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article ownership issues[edit]

This is indeed a partial revert of this, contrary to this edit summary. But this real problem is the assumption of ownership by User:Gatoclass throughout this article's history and exemplified in this edit summary. Per WP:OWN, I'm bringing it up here. "et al." uses the period even in lists, tables, etc., just like "etc." or "e.g." would. How it looks to User:Gatoclass is irrelevant. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:49, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you try addressing me personally instead of speaking about me in the third person? Gatoclass (talk) 12:01, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Because this isn't your talk page. I'm talking to all editors here. You really need to work on you WP:OWNership viewpoint. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:16, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But since you are having a dispute with me, why not try to resolve the matter with me first? Apart from which, we are probably the only two people watching this page anyway. But getting back to the point - can you point me to a MOS page that supports your position? Thanks, Gatoclass (talk) 13:39, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
MOS:MISCSHORT. Can you point to anything that supports yours? -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:47, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. I've had a long day and am tired and about to log off, so will have to reply tomorrow. Gatoclass (talk) 14:07, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
