Proposed move[edit]

This is an interesting situation. The Danish Navy and most of the Danish sources use 'Iver Huitfeldt', though Ivar is seen in some sources. The namesake, Ivar Huitfeldt crops up as Iver in some cases, though Ivar actually appears to predominate. Given that the Danish Navy appears to have named this ship 'Iver Huitfeldt', it follows fairly uncontroversially that the article should reflect that. Benea (talk) 18:01, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missile Launchers designation and Missile Capability[edit]

In the First paragraph it refers to the MK56 12 cell ESSM Launchers. Later it refers to the Mk41 VLS system. Which missile launcher is actually present? I think the Mk41 VLS is present. I think the Mk56 is only designed capable with ESSM, and not capable of launching the Standard Missiles (SM). Also Mk41 is required for Tomahawk strike cruise missiles if later added.Plus the combat system is stated as the same as German and Dutch ships which have SMs, and Mk41 VLS. Adding Tomahawk missiles involves more than one would think. Spain obtained approval, and bought some components, then back out of completing the full system. The Ivar Huitfeldt class is fitted with both the Mk 41 and the Mk 56. Or rather, the Mk 56 can be fitted in one of the six Standard Flex slots. --Chrthiel (talk) 12:53, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The info block on the side is incorrect on the mk56. It should read 12 mk56 vls for 24 ESSM as per the article text - not 24 mk56 vls for 24 ESSM. 144.139.103.173 (talk) 22:07, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
