Izhkar[edit]

The name of Izhevsk is Izhkar or Ishkar in Ud-murt language, not Izh.

Less than 10 per cent of the total population are Ud-murts.

Role in Soviet Firearms[edit]

The article mentions that the Kalashnikov was manufactured here, but another important firearm was the Mosin Nagant, the standard-issue rifle of the Red Army in World War II. A few million were produced here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.0.227.161 (talk) 01:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
