Errata[edit]

Just noticed two problems with the article - first, the inhabitants of JPod don't technically "live" there - their respective domiciles are mentioned throughout the book. Second, the book is in no way written in the form of Ethan's personal diary entries, as far as I can tell. Can we agree to get rid of this? 74.254.198.4 (talk) 00:28, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TGN?[edit]

(1) "TGN" should either be referenced or removed. (2) You can't copyright a name. Perhaps it's (allegedly) trademarked?

Agreed. The "JPod" spelling also agrees with publisher references as seen on Amazon, etc. So I've changed it, pending contrary proof. --Ds13 03:54, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the UK version of the book is jPod [1] so, is the article going to be written as if in the UK, or Canada, or the US?
Given that the book was first published in Canada and is by a Canadian author, I suggest that the Canadian title JPod stand. I'd also recommend that the differences in titles be noted in much the same fashion as other entries. The entry for fellow Canadian Alice Munro's Who Do You Think You Are? provides an example.Victoriagirl 17:14, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Publishers[edit]

I recently expanded this article (I actually took the infobox and the entire structure from Microserfs and I know better now, so excuse any wrong dates and information I glossed over) and there seems to be a conflict between who published the books. Let's get this straight:

According to Amazon, The Canadian hardcover published by Random House Canada, has the ISBN of 0679314245[2], with 528 pages. The USA hardcover published by Bloomsbury USA (not HarperCollins) is 448 pages with the ISBN of 1596912332[3]. (Don't ask why the page numbers are different) The paperback is the same.

Infobox[edit]

I've returned Terry as the "preceded" work to the infobox. While the two books are unrelated - authorship aside - the intention is to indicate which of Coupland's books was published immediately prior. A good example is provided by the infobox for Robertson Davies' The Rebel Angels, the first novel in his Cornish Trilogy - neither the book that proceded nor the book that followed have anything to do with the trilogy.--Victoriagirl 02:33, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Jpod.jpg[edit]

Image:Jpod.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

The title[edit]

The title is clearly JPod, not jPod.

  1. Previous discussions on this talk page support this naming.
  2. The title is upcased in the book itself.
  3. Book titles are capitalized anyways.

Actually we don't need an admin in this case. Making the first letter lowecase in a title is caused by a template. Since this page is not under protection anyone could change it back to JPod at any time by removing the template.--76.71.215.121 (talk) 20:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Related works and influences[edit]

The relation to Skate and Board X seem stretched, especially as it's under the heading of 'related works and influences' it would suggest JPod influenced the development of Skate or that it got the idea from Skate, if either of these are true then there should be references. The same applies for the relation to e. which seems far to wide to be taken seriously, unless the author has said that he was influenced by Jpod. alan.polding (talk) 22:30, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
