I have never quick-failed an article before, and I really hate to do it to one that has sat around this long, but maybe nobody took it up because they were afraid to?

Regardless, I will try to give as much constructive criticism as I can so you can improve the article.

The quick fail is not because of article instability; not really your fault there.

Things that have to do with GA criteria

  • Introduction is far too short
  • Information left uncited
  • Include information in the intro in the body as well (like the birth date), and then cite it. Birth dates can be pretty contentious for BLPs.
  • Prose is not great; you can try getting a copyedit from WP:GOCE
  • Citations are not formatted correctly; I recommend using WP:CS1, which formats the citations automatically
    • If you do that, include trans-title fields and what the source language is

Things that do not have to do with GA criteria; just nice to haves

  • Keep the date formatting in the article and in the citations the same

I think that should take a bit to do. If you have any questions, please contact me on my talk page or the WP:GAN talk page. Thanks and good luck! Kees08 (Talk) 01:53, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kees08, the nomination was withdrawn by the nominator back on January 16, 2018, at which point it was about eight months old. It was mistakenly restored by another editor a few hours before you noticed this and took it on because it was approaching a year old. Your advice will prove useful for any future GA nomination; thanks for taking this one on. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:58, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, that makes more sense; I was wondering how it languished for so long. Sounds good and no problem; I will continue to take on some old noms here and there, but will check the talk history a little better next time. Kees08 (Talk) 05:35, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
