The result of the move request was: no consensus on the first two, third moved. Unanimous consensus to move #3, on the first two there is no consensus between the supporters arguing that both were known as "James" and opposers arguing Jim was the most common name for the pianist and avoiding a WP:TWODABS. – Among the three men listed upon the James Caine (disambiguation) page, only two have entries. The third man — James Caine, of South Tyneside Council election, 2004 — is/was an independent who received 726 votes in 2004 and has not been in the news since then. As for James Caine (footballer), who died in 1971, there is no indication that his notability has remained at such a level that he should be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC over Jim Caine (jazz pianist), who is the sole "Jim" listed on the dab page, with Jim Caine redirecting to James Caine (disambiguation), thus suggesting that the parenthetical qualifier "(jazz pianist)" is unnecessary. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 20:42, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support all as per nom. 162 etc. (talk) 21:45, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose first two, Support third. There's only one article needing the title "James Caine" and one needing the title "Jim Caine", so no title conflict. Just point to the current dab page from hatnotes on each of the two articles. Station1 (talk) 05:36, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support both people are called "James" but the jazz pianist seems to be the only usage with the "Jim" variant and has more views (40) than the footballer (19)[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:24, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose first two, Support third - this is essentially a TWODABS situation. GiantSnowman 18:38, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support all. The footballer is pretty obscure (precisely five league appearances) and the musician was also called James Caine. To be honest, knowing how working-class people tended to be known in his era, I would be very surprised if the footballer was even known as James Caine. Jim or Jimmy would be far more likely. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:47, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
