Georgia not Hawaii[edit]

James Henderson Blount is a politician from Georgia, not Hawaii. I realize he was involved in investigating the events of Hawaii in 1893 but that does not qualify him as a Hawaiian politican. I am changing the stub and category notes for this. LarryQ

Dates[edit]

How did Blount serve in the Philippines to 1905 -- two years after his own death in Georgia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.34.134.114 (talk) 17:48, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch. It was his son who served in the Philippines according to http://findingaids.library.emory.edu/documents/blount282/. I'll edit this out. LarryQ (talk) 18:54, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, good catch. I think that I was responsible for mistakenly introducing the misplaced material. That would have grown out of references to the son as "Judge Blount" in various articles related to the Philippines. I've removed the Category:History of the Philippines and Category:American colonial period of the Philippines links. I've left the Category:American non-fiction writers link in, though, which I probably added thinking of this book (apparently authored by the son). The Blount Report re Hawaii mentioned (and derided) here probably probably fits the father into that category. I'll have a go at cleaning up mistaken wikilinks from articles relating to the Philippines. I'm thinking that there probably ought to be a separate WP article about the son, but I'm not sure I have enough information handy to write even a good stub, and my location on a small island in the Philippines makes research difficult.
