I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 16:07, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • The lead is too short; it should summarize the article.
Expanded lead. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ludington platted Pere Marquette in 1867, but apparently the village was already known as that. I think of platting as dividing up land into parcels so that it can be sold to individuals; is that what he did? If Pere Marquette already existed we shouldn't say he platted it; it should be something like "he platted the land around Pere Marquette", depending on what the sources say.
Yes, he platted 360 acres around the village of Pere Marquette to develop a town. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • FindAGrave is unreliable and usually I would suggest removing it. If you are certain it's correct in this case we can let it go, but generally it's not a usable source as it is user-contributed data.
Took out Find-A-Grave.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • A related point; you don't say where he's buried. If you have other sources than FindAGrave we can include that, and that would substantiate the FindAGrave link; if not, the link should probably go.
So far, have not been able to find where he is buried.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article is short and to the point; I don't see any other significant issues. I'll have a look in newspapers.com and see if I can find additional sources while you look at the points above. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 16:55, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mike Christie: I'll start working on the above issues. Thanks for review.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 18:24, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A quick look through newspapers.com doesn't find anything more on James, but there's an interesting account of Lewis Ludington's involvement with a circus on page 1 of the Green Bay Advocate for 25 August 1881. If you're interested and don't have access let me know and I'll clip the article for you. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:05, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Mike Christie: Yes! I have access to Newspapers.com and use it a lot on my articles. Thanks for lead.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 18:24, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Mike Christie: Found an obit on him that shows where he is buried. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 21:35, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fixes look good; passing. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 21:11, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
