Untitled[edit]

The timing in the section 'Early life and Texas' is nonsensical. Goggin was in West Point from 1838 to as late as 1842, but afterwards he relocated to Texas and fought Mexico from 1835 to 1836. The dates have him fighting Mexico before he went to West Point, but the context has him going to West Poibt first and then fighting Mexico. Which is correct?

Good catch! He was in Texas's Army before it was a U.S. state, but not when that army fought Mexico, and I deleted the 1835-36 dates referring to the Texas Revolution. Thanks! Kresock (talk) 04:44, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another good catch. This page was cleverly vandalized on August 7, 2011 by IP User 92.12.246.96. I have deleted the bogus additions and added genuine facts with citations and references. I think I got them all. This page is now on my watchlist as well. Donner60 (talk) 01:38, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
