Importance[edit]

Nothing in this article seems to establish that Dean was notable. I’m not proposing deletion, because I’m not up on the inclusion standards for historical military personalities. But, isn’t there anything we can say about this guy that rises above the level of “He had a career”? Isomorphic (talk) 14:24, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

According to WP:MILPERSON, people holding a general officer rank (which includes brigadier general) are by definition notable enough to have an article, not to mention that at least two reliable sources discuss his biography. Besides, I think there are many people with Wikipedia articles where we could say the same thing of them. --1990'sguy (talk) 18:11, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that’s a surprisingly inclusive standard. There are around 600 general officers / flag officers in the U.S. military at any given time, and they are constantly retiring and being replaced through promotion. Isomorphic (talk) 10:15, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
