Middle name spelling?[edit]

Authorities differ. DNB and EB1911 have Tibbitts, and Charles Matthews created that as a redirect in 2013. Some other authorities have the same. WorldCat has Tibbetts, although one link I sampled has Tilbitts, as do BNE and BnF. ISNI has multiple variants, although it cites Wikipedia. Various contemporaneous (mid 19th century) printed catalogs on Google Books have Tibbitts, Tibbetts and Tibbits. It'd be nice to find something handwritten by him. The British Museum and Royal Academy have Tibbetts, the V&A has Tibbits. The ODNB has Tibbitts. These are all good authorities, so I doubt this one gets resolved. Charles Matthews (talk) 18:40, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
