Career Stats / Infobox[edit]

The MLB Infobox was edited to remove Runs / Stolen Bases, and I reverted that change. Players featured on the Baseball Portal, such as Roberto Clemente and Lou Gehrig feature career runs. Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball/Player style advice indicates that while the infobox should "focus on Triple Crown statistics," it adds that "another statistic that is representative of the player's career [...] can be included as well." Template:Infobox MLB player#Parameters further notes that stat1 should be "the most important statistic for evaluating this player," which "will vary according to what the player is most well known for." I think it's reasonable to say that total career hits and stolen bases are likely the statistics for which Carroll is most well known. Omega drh (talk) 18:56, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Don't agree at all. 74 stolen bases over 12 seasons and only 1000 hit's is not notable enough for inclusion. The "the most important statistic for evaluating this player," which "will vary according to what the player is most well known for." is referring to players with 3000 hits (and sometimes 2000), a high amount of stolen bases (Tim Raines), saves (Troy Percival) and notable records (Tris Speaker doubles).--Yankees10 20:26, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I don't see why we'd highlight 1,000 career hits and 74 steals. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:34, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
