Loss of Copernicus's manuscripts

Is it fair to attribute the loss of Copernicus's manuscripts to Broscius when they were lost after his death?!? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.81.99.2 (talk) 22:51, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, he acquired them in 1612, and died in 1652. He surely was not in a hurry, yet he did not publish anything remotely adequate, nor did he bequeath them to a library or to other scholars. As hardly anyone knew what he possessed, and where he stored it, it's no wonder that the manuscripts were lost. It's a shame. -- Matthead  Discuß   20:19, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
