Loss of Copernicus's manuscripts[edit]

Is it fair to attribute the loss of Copernicus's manuscripts to Broscius when they were lost after his death?!? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.81.99.2 (talk) 22:51, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he acquired them in 1612, and died in 1652. He surely was not in a hurry, yet he did not publish anything remotely adequate, nor did he bequeath them to a library or to other scholars. As hardly anyone knew what he possessed, and where he stored it, it's no wonder that the manuscripts were lost. It's a shame. -- Matthead  Discuß   20:19, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
