Jan Coene[edit]

Actually, this page is the translation of one contribution on the Jan Coene's french page [1]. More precisely, it's a translation only about the best part of Jan Coene's career, probably made by Jan Coene himself or a close assistant of him. You can see that it's more a self-satisfied history than a real encyclopedic article, which shouldn't stay like that. As a proof, this contribution was made on the french page by a IP address (217.167.228.21) linked to SIVECO GROUP. Jan Coene is the current SIVECO's Chairman of the board...

This page almost doesn't say a word about the "Picanol affair", despite it's very famous in Belgium. It's even probably the only reason why Jan Coene is so famous in Belgium. If you search for "Jan Coene" on Google, you'll find mostly articles (in Flemish or French) talking about the Coene's scandal, which occurred when the press revealed Jan Coene's incomes from Picanol. The affair was even politic, as, after the events, the belgium parliament and senate talked about a "Picanol law", made to force big companies to be more transparent about management's incomes.--89.159.20.227 23:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the informations published by Lnfernandez about Picanol's shares value. In 2001, when Jan Coene was nominated, the value was between €8 and €9. When he left in October 2004, it was between €17 and €18 (source: stock exchange for BE0003807246 PICANOL). So the value didn't triple, and the informations published are wrong. As the source turns out not to be reliable, I think it'd be wary to remove this part.--SK8Rider 19:24, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
