Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on January 5, 2011.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that the Japanese air attacks on the Mariana Islands between November 1944 and January 1945 sought to disrupt the bombing of Japan by United States Army Air Forces aircraft based on the islands?

G4Ms?[edit]

The Article currently suggests that mnost of the attacks were mounted by IJN G4M bombers. However, Mitsubishi Ki-67/Ki-109 In Japanese Army Air Service by Richard M. Bueschel (Schiffer, 1997, ISBN 0-7643-0350-3) suggests that Japanese Army Ki-67s were highly active in the role, flying raids staging through Iwo Jima - is this a misidentification of the aircraft attacking through Iwo, or were both the Japanese Army and Navy staging missions through Iwo?Nigel Ish (talk) 11:33, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The sources I could find mentioned G4Ms, A6Ms and other unspecified aircraft, so it's likely that these were at least some of the 'missing' aircraft. Could you please add in material on these aircraft? Nick-D (talk) 07:55, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Military dates[edit]

Regardless of what the Class-A article review concluded, it's improper to have a war article without using military dates/times... Magus732 (talk) 16:28, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
