Jasz peopleJász people – That is the correct spelling in Hungarian, also it is spelled in the body, and in Jász (redirect should be the opposit way) JSoos (talk) 15:30, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Per third party search results, looks as though WP:USEENGLISH applies to the current title, and the article may need to be corrected to reflect the current title. Steel1943 (talk) 19:55, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Which spelling is more common in English-language sources? It doesn't matter if this is the correct spelling in Hungarian. It also doesn't matter that English does not feature "á". WP:COMMONNAME is the determining factor here. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 20:57, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My "oppose" also makes a WP:COMMONNAME claim (third party sources I found do not use the accent) though I did not state that guideline specifically. Steel1943 (talk) 22:07, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The current title appears to be the most common English spelling. Rreagan007 (talk) 23:42, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The link returns mixed results for both variations. Not sure what this link/search is supposed to prove. Steel1943 (talk) 16:43, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Name 'Jasz' Isn't Related to the Name 'Jazygian'[edit]

Why does the History section make the discredited claim that 'Jasz' is "certainly related" to 'Jazyg-' when the Geography section has already noted the claim is "erroneous"? The Jazygians were Sarmatians, as were the ancestors of the Jasz/Ās, but beyond that there's no known special proximity between the two groups, nor any etymological connection between their names. This claim keeps popping up on Wikipedia articles that touch upon the Jasz even after repeated deletion. 2602:306:C4CE:9AF9:CCAA:709:3521:C041 (talk) 23:24, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
