Article needs major rewrite and expansion[edit]

As it stands now, the article does not follow Wikipedia standards for biographies of artists (see MOS:BIO), and instead reads like a badly-written employment resume. Among other items, there is a nearly-useless list of museums sorted by city name (!), but listing almost no actual works of art. This should be replaced by a list of major works, sorted by date, and listing their locations as a secondary, not primary attribute. Also, there is almost no content, other than some dry listings; there instead should be a narrative biography, describing major developments in the artistic career. See articles for other artists, such as Eadweard Muybridge, Alexander Calder, Thomas Eakins, or Salvador Dalí for examples of how to improve this article. These examples have various quality ratings, but they are all much better than this article at present. As one more observation, the article is seriously lacking in footnotes to WP:RS. I did a major rewrite and expansion over a year ago, including addition of many refs. Some further work is still needed, but the article is now much more than a stub. Reify-tech (talk) 12:12, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
