Where was he born?[edit]

There was no Poland in 1860 when he was born. It was split between the Austrian Empire, the Kingdom of Prussia and the Russian Empire.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:16, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The reference says he was born in Poland. We could have "the country now known as Poland", but would that help the article? Similar criticisms could be leveled at use of Italy pre-federation, and maybe a hundred other countries. Doug butler (talk) 04:43, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
