Bipedal?[edit]

hibernation/migration[edit]

Do jerboas hibernate or migrate. If so, why?? I'm just curious. I am sure Wikipedia says but I can't seem to find it

Endangered species list as Vulnerable (VU).[edit]

Dipodidae[edit]

Dipodidae redirects here, but, the main article text discusses only jerboas, not jumping mice or birchmice. I have therefore created a new page to discuss the family as a whole, and reduced the species list provided here to include only those species referred to in the text above it. Recent Changes[edit]

I made some stylistic changes that makes the article easier to read, but for the most part the major issue this article has is the lack of citations and references. A single reference is not quite enough, but acceptable. That said, every fact within the article requires a citation. I modified the language about to edit out potentially confusing language such as "presume", given the article requires definitive facts and not guess work or original research (though the language use may reflect the original author's writing style, wikipedia standards require a more confident "voice"). —Preceding unsigned comment added by McBeardy (talk • contribs) 12:44, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cartoon references?[edit]

I saw a video on Youtube of a Pygmy Jerboa, and noticed it looks similar to some cartoon characters I've seen. I can't think of any cartoon character specifically, but it would be interesting if anyone else knows of a cartoon character that was based off the Pygmy Jerboa. It really has a cartoonish look to it. I've heard from some people, that they think it appears similar to Pikachu from Pokemon.Violet yoshi (talk) 23:19, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Unless there is an alternate meaning not cited here, this smacks of someone trying to slip a Creationist reference into an otherwise scientific article. Also, "cruel" is a value judgement. Think I saw similar or same animal in Indian forest[edit]

In 1997 I saw these mice in Tungareshwar forest in Vasai, India. We were on a night trek during summer and saw few of these mice among "karvi" trees. Regarding this text in the first line: I'm not the one to decide or to make changes, as I am not a biologist, but comparing Family/Superfamily with that of marmots, this seems to be wrong.

Image?[edit]

The main image should be considered for change. It's literally a jerboa screaming in anguish with some people watching it (and we can literally see on of them's hands and chest).
