Picture Needed[edit]

I have worked on this article for several days and think it's time to stop...on the brink of a repetitive strain injury :) Would be great if I can get a picture of "Jessie Bernard" to round it off. However, the licensing seems complicated. Anyone out there with a picture? I have a picture of her in one of my old text books and I have a digital camera. Would it be legal if I take a picture myself, upload it and reference the book? Thanks in advance! NetsWiki (talk) 15:22, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Taking a photo of a published photo and then using that (photo of a photo) would not be permissible. The rights to the image are still presumably owned by the photographer or perhaps the entity that initially published the photograph. You can refer to Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Finding images tutorial for further information about using images within Wikipedia articles. "These should still be decided on a case-by-case basis, based on an actual analysis rather than simply "they're bad"." you do not have a broad consensus, or policy basis, to remove images. please discuss before unilaterally removing reliable sourced content Turktimex3 (talk) 16:25, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
