Vandalism from /r/teenagers Discord server

This page is constantly being edited by users from the /r/teenagers Discord server, especially TheNoobWar#0001. I think it should be placed under protection. DmitryKsWikis (Dmitry K.) | talk 06:46, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Recent Vandalism January 2019

This is your warning, stop adding unconfirmed release dates such as January 30th 2019 or other dates to build up hype or for whatever disruptive motive. Setting the date to January 30 isn't going to make Kanye release it this week (unfortunately).

Do not vandalize the page in other ways as well.

Administrators, anyway to semi-protect this page from vandalism until a date like 8 February 2019? Constant vandalism of the such has persisted for a week. Thanks. Nice4What (talk) 00:13, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

YandhiJesus Is King – The article is about West's ninth studio album, which was independently confirmed by E! News to be titled Jesus Is King and is no longer titled Yandhi. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 20:12, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

It wouldn’t make any sense to move this page to a completely different album. That just wastes months of work from various editors. Instead, "Jesus is King" will be moved to the draft space and upon release editors can begin to properly build the article; merging Yandhi with it. Trillfendi (talk) 20:23, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
You know renaming the article preserves the edit history, right? I don't know what you're saying about having to create Draft:Jesus Is King because moving this page is simply all that's needed. And it's not a "completely different album"; Yandhi was just the title during early recording. Note that "Garden" was meant to be released in September 2018 and now it's being officially released in September 2019. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 21:30, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
Seeing that you've already created the draft, it's worth noting it's practically just a copy-and-paste move of the "December 2018 – Present" subsection of this article. This move makes sense. If you believe there should be a split for information on Yandhi, fine. Make that suggestion. But even when the album started leaking, The Fader noted that it was a "minor story". Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 21:34, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
Extended discussion
@Trillfendi: Do NOT edit war. Both Jesus Is King and Yandhi are bolded in the lede for now as a compromise. Jesus Is King has been confirmed to be West's next album, and there is no indication that Yandhi is planned for the future. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 00:32, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
I already said Yandhi wasn’t going to be released... weeks ago. That doesn’t change the name of the article nor the lead. You don’t have to ping me about this shit, I’ve already asked for further assistance. If you want years of work going down the drain oh the fuck k. But you’re “NOT” gonna tell me what the fuck to do, especially not about a page you’ve been disrupting. This ain’t gonna be a Good Article any time soon. Trillfendi (talk) 01:06, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
What years of work?? Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 01:56, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
Swore I had said months as I did up top. Trillfendi (talk) 02:11, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
Still not sure what the concern is. If we move Yandhi to Jesus Is King, all that months of work will be preserved in the edit history. I can also say that (while being aware of WP:OWN) I've contributed the most to this article. Moving this page wouldn't put anything "down the drain". Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 12:28, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

@Pinnkerton and MikeOwen: Pinging since both of you participated in the move conversation above. Besides Kardashian's picture of the track list, a representative for West confirmed to E! News that Jesus Is King will be his ninth studio album. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 00:47, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Splitting will only lead to Yandhi’s inevitable deletion. Trillfendi (talk) 02:50, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
Yandhi should be redirected to that subsection as there's no true indication that Yandhi is still a separate project. Keeping a Yandhi article would be similar to keeping Love Everyone and Turbo Grafx 16 articles separate from Ye. We can split off the Yandhi subsection if Yandhi is confirmed to be a separate album. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 03:12, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
  • Weak support for a move leaving a redirect, then split into separate articles if Yandhi ends up being released. Although I initially thought that there should be two different articles for Jesus Is King and Yandhi, I came to my current position after reading this article. French Montana gave some info on what Kanye was working on, and said that his project was "heading in a spiritual direction," which is in line with Jesus Is King's theme. This suggests that the Jesus Is King effectively arose from the Yandhi project, making the latter relevant towards the former. I know this is a weakish argument, but with no tangible news concerning Yandhi and its future, and the probability that Jesus Is King came from it, I think that a move is the only real option: in my opinion, a draft for Jesus Is King wouldn't be very good since that is the release that takes precedence, since that is the one that will actually be released and will undoubtedly gain more media coverage than Yandhi from now on (unless, Yandhi is released, in which a split or a separate article is made. We can always access the article history to expand a potential Yandhi article if it's released). mike•owen discuss 11:43, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Jesus is King - seperate page?

Resolved

As it is not confirmed that "Jesus is King" is indeed Yandhi, or the fact that rumors are circulating of a different album in November, the best approach would be to make "Jesus is King" it's own seperate page on Wikipedia, before more information has been revealed. Who else would agree with this? TheWiselyStupidOne (talk) 17:02, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

The scope of the article is about West's ninth studio album, its background, recording, and eventual release. It was previously titled Yandhi and now it's titled Jesus Is King. Rumors of a separate Yandhi album are baseless and against WP:CRYSTAL. From Rap-Up: "Other UMG artists including The Weeknd, Migos, and Kanye West are reportedly set to release new albums in November as well. However, the information is questionable considering that Kanye previously announced a Sept. 27 release date for his album Jesus Is King." Organization

Resolved

Definitely worth noting that this article has issues with being organized. For example, "On August 29, 2019, Kardashian announced Jesus Is King by posting a handwritten track list of the project on her Twitter. The album has been proposed for release on September 27, 2019.[48] A representative for West reported to E! News that Jesus Is King would be his "latest album".[1] In early September 2019, West was reportedly finishing up the album with Pusha T at his newly-purchased ranch in Cody, Wyoming,[49] the same state where West recorded his previous two albums Ye and Kids See Ghosts. During Sunday Service on September 16, West confirmed the release date that Kardashian tweeted out.[50]" should be more covered in Release and promotion than a subsection of Background and recording. Also, anyone mentioned in the body should be WikiLinked on the first time they are mentioned; I fixed this mistake with Kim Kardashian. Could others help out pre-release so it doesn't get even more messy with the info to come on Friday onwards? --Kyle Peake (talk) 14:47, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

I fixed the organization and I've been trying to also fix this first mention issue as I've been revising the recording section. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 19:03, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
Nice4What Thanks, what's up with ref 37 tho? --Kyle Peake (talk) 19:21, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
Used to have the number of weeks updated for Sunday Service. Not sure how the reference broke. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 21:55, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
Maybe try using the wayback machine for it? --Kyle Peake (talk) 05:00, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
The citation in question was for the thirty-fourth week of Sunday Service and we're now onto week thirty-eight. We'd just need a new citation to update the count. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 18:11, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Canceled

Resolved

Do we know for certain or are just speculating off sources? West or Kardashian haven't confirmed this... --Kyle Peake (talk) 20:36, 25 September 2019 (UTC)

To be honest if it’s not released in before Thanksgiving I say merge it to Kanye West. How long has this been going on? Over a year now. Trillfendi (talk) 22:06, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
The most reliable report of a cancellation comes from Variety, which I've incorporated as a hatnote. Also, completely opposed to ever merging this article to Kanye West lol. Recording would be ongoing. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 02:36, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
At this rate we’ll have a new president before it even comes out.... Trillfendi (talk) 02:38, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
Slated release date is still 27 September despite the rumors that came out today. Let's hope for the best :) Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ) 02:46, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
@Trillfendi: Might even be Ye's 2024 run at this rate lol. Also Nice4What, we can just leave the release date with a note for now and see how it ultimately turns out. --Kyle Peake (talk) 07:22, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

New tracklist?

Resolved

Kim Kardashian posted a new tracklist, apparently.

https://twitter.com/KimKardashian/status/1177721870503817216

Seeming as how this is such a last-minute change, I'd figure I could get some input on adding this. Thanks! –eggofreason(talk · contribs) 23:59, 27 September 2019 (UTC)

Take it with a grain of salt. A hotel notepad tracklist on the day that it should’ve been released (we all knew how that was gonna go) is not worthy of inclusion until an independent reliable source can verify. Pleased to see New Body resuscitated though. Trillfendi (talk) 00:10, 28 September 2019 (UTC)

"New Body" might been cut from the album.[1] - MakesNoMistakes (talk) 06:06, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

Sample credits

Resolved

Haven't looked too much into this even as a big Ye fan since I'm holiday right now, but I know there's some samples on the album. Could someone add a source and include the credits in the article please? --Kyle Peake (talk) 22:43, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Redirect

There is currently a redirect from "Jesus is Lord" to this article. This conflicts with the actual article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_is_Lord and results in duplicate search results for "Jesus is Lord". Not sure how to best fix this, but it should be fixed.50.32.251.121 (talk) 16:39, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
