Hm, this may be a problem. That sentence is a part of my translation of the Czech Wiki article. (Ocassionally I translate Czech articles and subsequently I fix errors and check it with really reliable sources, you've surely noted). The Czech article is almost entirely based on this source. It looks like official Semafor theatre page, but I'm not sure with that. Jelínek's profile there is written in a slightly pejorative tone, mentioning his alcohol problem and his work at the Prague main railway station as a "notice board maintenance man" (??? - really strange job, but it was possible in the communist Czechoslovakia). All that is called "Jiří Suchý's remembers Jiří Jelínek". Suchý was Jelínek's friend and collaborator for many years. Imagine: Would you write on the official page of your theatre a profile of an old and long dead friend in such a manner? It is possible and it may be true, of course, but it's not entirely convincing for me. Therefore I don't want to include that information. Unfortunately I didn't find more detailed sources up to now, but I'll work on it.

P.S. I know something about every subject I add to Wikipedia - something about their lifes, about their work. I don't want to hold back any important and interesting facts, positive or negative. I admire and love Jelínek's music, but my sympathy mustn't be apparent in the article. By the same token I don't want to add unconfirmed speculations based on the only online source. I certainly do understand, and agree. What you've offered is - I think - entirely appropriate under the circumstances you've outlined in reply. Unconfirmed speculation, regardless how close the source is - or was - to the subject, has no place here. This does leave the ending rather terse and mysterious, but in the absence of third party sources, let's leave it for now. Your sensibilities do you credit, Antonin. Exactly. My style is similar, I'm trying to avoid unreliable informations, if I'm not absolutely sure. Wikipedia should be the best encyclopedia, not stupid tabloid. Btw, many of Czech jazzmen died relatively young, some of them tragically. Currently I'm writing an article about another unhappy jazz fate. He was close Jelínek's collaborator and a real superstar of the Czech music in 60s. His name was Jiří Šlitr. --Vejvančický (talk) 16:15, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Jelínek was a singer in this song (together with another trumpeter Richard Kubernát). He is better known as a singer in the Czech Republic. I mentioned his greatest hits, songs well known up to now. See Motýl, Zčervená (together with Jiří Suchý) and Chlupatý kaktus. Chlupatý kaktus (A Hairy Cactus) is accompanied rather with botanical video :)), but the man with moustache in previous two videos is Jiří Jelínek. --Vejvančický (talk) 13:58, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
