Untitled[edit]

This person's page should be renamed. I couldn't find it for the first couple of searches I did. He is credited as 'James A. Johnston' in all his work. Drop the unencyclopeadic familiarities. 86.143.94.17 13:05, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Attention![edit]

The quotes section does not belong at Wikipedia. The creators of wikipedia have a website dedicated to quotes called Wikiquote, where the quotes section has been moved to. Any restoration of the quotes section will be reverted. --LBMixPro <Speak|on|it!> 02:32, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes sections and Wikiquote[edit]

This conversation was forked from my talk page --LBMixPro <Speak|on|it!> 03:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's an editing dispute at Jim Johnston (composer) over a quote section. Someone removed the quotes section stating it wasn't neccisary. An anon uncivily restored it. Afterward, I moved the section to Wikiquote as it's Wikimedia's quote encyclopedia, the anon continues to restore it despite numerous reverts. Should the quotes section stay on the Wikipedia article (with a link to Wikiquote with the same content), or deleted? --LBMixPro <Speak|on|it!> 02:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the quotes that are being restored, I would say you did the right thing - a) they are not sourced, and b) the article was beginning to look like Wikiquote. Editors should remember that Wikipedia is, at its core, an encyclopedia, and not an opportunity to list the best and worst quotations pertaining to an article's subject. If there are many quotations, please move them to Wikiquote and place a Wikiquote template on the article to inform readers that there are relevant quotations regarding the subject. However, I'd strongly urge you list this on WP:AN/I and ask for input, with a Diff of the quotes that are being removed. Also, maybe suggest semi-protection. As stated above, the quotes section is a violation of the Verifibility and What wikipedia is not policies. The quotes are not lost, as they are at Wikiquote, so those who need to study the quotes can go there and do so. I've made a large box at the bottom of the article stating where the quotes are. Please don't copy its content here. Please save us the trouble of taking this any further, and please expand the article in other ways. Thank you. --LBMixPro <Speak|on|it!> 03:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

World Wrestling Entertainment vs. WWE[edit]

There is a section stating that the World Wrestling Federation is now known as World Wrestling Entertainment. Since they, as a company, are now known as WWE (officially not just in common parlance) should it be edited to reflect this? - Citation: http://corporate.wwe.com/news/2011/2011_04_07.html MrZoolook (talk) 22:02, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Age[edit]

An article in the Atlantic claims he was 60 in 2013. The Wikipedia article gives his birth date as 1959 with a reference to the Conrad Thompson podcast. Is there a more reliable source for the age? НАндреев (talk) 19:48, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He is born in 1952. See my post below! Marty2Hotty (talk) 17:31, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He was born in St. Louis and grew up in Pocahontas[edit]

Johnston was born in St. Louis, he said himself, and came back to Pocahontas a short time later, where he remained until he started the 1st grade.
