Untitled[edit]

Is this article maintained by the Oberweis campaign? The Chicago Tribune came right out and said that Oberweis' use of the Tribune's name in his totally faked headlines was preposterous. I dispute that these are "fake" ads, no they are fake ads without quotation marks. ArrowHead 00:22, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Using quotation marks or not using quotation marks is more of a matter of style, than anything else. The fact remains that the article has links to several stories that are carrying the controversy over the fake ad (and he still won't apologize for them, that was evident the other night in debates, when Topinka refused to shake his hand). All of the candidate's pages are being watched, to prevent their campaigns volunteers/staff members from distorting/misusing them. --JohnDBuell 04:34, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would rather see something like "apparently fraudulent" or "faked" as opposed to "'fake'" with the quotation marks. I think that the NPOV consensus would be that these ads were unequivocally fake. 207.112.205.210 17:46, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, change it then! --JohnDBuell 21:46, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name of NYSE Member Firm?[edit]

There is a reference in this wikipedia article as well as on the U of I alumni hall of fame website to Mr. Oberweis getting his start in the financial industry by "having served on with an NYSE firm" (here on wiki) and "having worked for a large retail brokerage firm" on the U of I alumni site. Can someone please be more specific about where Mr. Oberweis got his first chance on Wall Street? I believe this is significant information and Mr. Oberweis could provide it himself. Why has Mr. Oberweis not included this information in with the rest of his biographical content? DavidMSA (talk) 16:52, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Oberweis image[edit]

Would someone please upload an image of Jim Oberweis to this article, as well as to the article United States Senate election in Illinois, 2014? 1990'sguy (talk) 00:29, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, bad archive link. --1990'sguy (talk) 16:05, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That one did actually work at one time, but seems to have been removed from archivedotorg for some reason. GigglesnortHotel (talk) 16:20, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, right. This edit explains it. --1990'sguy (talk) 19:46, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
