Notability[edit]

This person does not seem to be notable. Also appears to be written by family/self.

Changed section heading. The first version of this comment appeared around 2009 but, apparently, the Signbot signature was later removed. Anyway, I think the notability question is moot now and this section could be archived away. Arbalest Mike (talk) 20:53, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect conclusion[edit]

The Wikipedia article ends by saying Bennett and his lawyer were pursuing an investigation with the police, yet it seems that Bennett changed his mind on pressing charges. As of December 24th 2018, it was reported that he had "gone to ground without ever reporting the alleged crime to the police in Los Angeles," although the article said he was still active on social media.

He may have decided not to pursue the matter after appearing on Italian television being questioned by an aggressive/skeptical host.

Recent browser searches have not turned up any additional information. Thus the conclusion is incorrect/incomplete and may lead people to question why the police did not pursue the case.

These facts will eventually end up as a footnote in the history of the "Me Too" movement to the effect of "one early accuser of Harvey Weinstein, Asia Argento was herself accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a fellow actor who was then 17 when she was 37."

The footnote might further add that "It was reported that Anthony Bourdain, renowned Chef who committed suicide a few months earlier, had paid Bennett $388 thousand dollars on Argento's behalf in exchange for his silence. Jimmy Bennett reportedly refused to continue cooperating with the L.A. police investigating the incident."

This may have been considered important in 2018, but the lack of a resolution together with the prosecution and sentencing of Harvey Weinstein reduces its importance to Wikipedia readers.
