Marriage[edit]

The date of his marriage is given as 1955 - odd as he had been dead for 13 years. This gives a more plausible date, also mentions a 1st wife, + more details re the suicide. -- roundhouse 14:47, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coverage of the recent death of Isabella Blow is revealing more details. He had to sell off much of the estate due to gambling debts. Tearlach 18:10, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Neither article states the relationship between Evelyn Delves Broughton and Jock Delves Broughton. It would be worth adding this. Son? Nephew? -- roundhouse 18:19, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Son and father. Any of the current stories about Isabella Blow (eg [1]) are OK as ref; they mention Jock as her grandfather and Evelyn as her father. Tearlach 18:39, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I've been reading the refs. V interesting. (I particularly enjoyed the film.) -- roundhouse 18:48, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Powder[edit]

Erroll was shot with black powder. Broughton pointed out at the trial that he only had one box of .32 ammunition and that he had bought it 10 or 15 years earlier. This meant that it probably used smokeless powder. His remark was widely reported in the Press and has not been denied by the gunsmiths of England. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.41.51.240 (talk) 11:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Morris[edit]

Morris, Broughton's lawyer, was puzzled by the Crown's weak case when he saw the ballistic evidence at the Magistrates' hearing in Nairobi. When Morris returned to South Africa, someone asked him who had killed the Earl of Errol. "Good heavens, I forgot to ask", he replied. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.4.21 (talk) 09:00, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
