Is he really dead?[edit]

"Presumed dead" may be more accurate, until such time as a body is identified, or other official finding, as it isn't 100% certain all remains will be found or be identifiable. Of course if he was on the plane his chances of survival, after an apparent missile strike at 33,000 ft are negligible. People have been reported dead IIRC because they were supposed to be on a plane that crashed, but were later found alive as they never boarded the aircraft.--220 of Borg 07:53, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Care to elaborate and link those two sources? Quoting citated link "It is believed the former president of the International AIDS Society, Joep Lange, was among those killed. " doesn't sound like a confirmation to me. I agree with Borg80.113.202.2 (talk) 10:15, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

But seriously, without a body and it only happened less than 22 hours ago (17 July @ ≈13:15 UTC).... Two Australians were supposed to be onboard, but changed to another flight at the last minute, they were possibly 'presumed dead' at some stage. --220 of Borg 10:53, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article fails to mention following academic publications[edit]

Lange is also co-author of a very strongly-worded editorial in The Lancet, titled: "Time to act: global apathy towards HIV/AIDS is a crime against humanity". His name appears on hundreds of other similar papers on HIV/AIDS treatment, so I think we may need to create a section dedicated to his research. -A1candidate (talk) 11:39, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
