I am puzzled by the reference to Bonnington in the article about John Boys, who died in 1664. There is a will of Sir John Boys, of Goodneston, Kent, proved 12 Nov 1664, (obtainable at the National Archives) in which the Testator mentions his service in Ireland, before 1649, and his estates in Ireland, and so I reckon that this might be the will of Sir John Boys, military commander, as seen in the DNB. However, the place Bonington in Kent is a few miles SE of Ashford, by Romney Marsh. The DNB mentions Bonington as his birth place. It is not near to either of the 2 places in Kent called Goodnestone. The one where the other Boys family members lived is the southern one, near Tilmanstone and Nonington. The Testator of the will is of "Nonington, Goodnestone" and is a knight. Could the article in the DNB be slightly wrong? RH Simons (talk) 18:32, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
