Request for image[edit]

I will be expanding this piece over time, and would love to have a photo of John Brooks, if anyone is so inclined or knows where one can be had. Many thanks in advance. MarmadukePercy (talk) 02:58, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Would also love a shot of the hardcover dust jacket from one of Brooks's early works like The Go-Go Years or Once in Golconda.MarmadukePercy (talk) 08:26, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography[edit]

I would like to remove the bibliography box on this piece. Brooks wrote scores of pieces for The New Yorker, everything from full-fledged profiles to shorter pieces for Talk of the Town. The bibliography box, which takes up quite a bit of room, mentions two. It is a distraction from the article, I believe, and I would like to delete unless someone has concerns about it. Thanks. Bibliography (2)[edit]

I have commenced a tidy-up of the restored Bibliography section:

  • Cite templates will be used where possible.
  • While I would prefer capitalization and punctuation to follow the standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, the Wikipedia Manual of Style at WP:MOS requires "title case".
  • ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference.
  • Links to potentially unreliable digitised copies may be removed.

This is a work in progress; feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 02:07, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
