GA nomination

Hi, I have quite a bit of experience writing FA and GA Victoria Cross articles, so I though I'd review this one for GA. Basically its good, but not quite there. I've listed my points below, but they are reasonably minor and you shouldn't have too much trouble clearing them up in the next few days.

• Too many titles. The article is too broken up by titles. I recommend removing "Paddock Wood" and under John Brunt remembered, take the information on the award of the VC and put that in a seperate section "VC presentation" or the like (see below). The rest of the pieces there should all be merged into a seperate paragraph. At the moment they read like trivia. Also include the information that his medals are on view at the Linconshire Regimental Museum and list them in text rather than list formatand do way with the seperate section on that.
• In the section on VC presentation, it would be a good idea to insert his actual VC citation. I've found it for you here (and here is his MC). The VC can be written out in a neat box (as at FA Thomas Crisp) and both medals should be sourced from the primary material.
• If you have the book on Paddock Wood mentioned at the bottom, then cite it. If not then its no use nor ornament I'm afraid.
• The citations at the bottom should be renamed Notes and the further reading renamed references and all books and websites used should be inserted, as discussed here.
• The lead should be reworded (that VC boilerplate stuff is not very useful) and a brief two paragraph description of his life given. His name should be unbolded in the first paragraph under the navigation box.
• There are a few minor syntax problems, but if you sort the above I'll give it a copy edit myself and pass it. Its a good job on a difficult subject as sources are hard to find. If you get a chance to access any other books on VC winners in general then use them to expand the references. (I have a few myself, let me know if you're having difficulties). As I said, I've done a copy-edit, and am ready to accept this as a GA. The article does need a greater range of sources if its to be taken any higher, but I'm well aware of how difficult reliable sources about these men can be to find. The VC citation linked to could also be written out in full as it is a useful primary source on the event, but that is not necessary for GA. All the best.--Jackyd101 16:18, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

GA Sweeps (Pass)

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force. I have made a few minor alterations, and there are perhaps some sentences that could do with specific citations (mostly in the "Early life" section). However, I believe the article currently meets GA criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. The article history has been updated to reflect this review.
