Skerrett article[edit]

This dob seems very problematic to me, given the year when he is supposed to have become an ensign. In addition, the action in which he was killed is supposed to have taken place in the night of 8/9 March, not 10 March.But it may be that he did not die immediately. I also think it would be clearer to refer to the Peninsular War or the Napoleonic Wars rather than to the Spanish War or Independence. Finally, the article does not mention what led to him being at Bergen-op-Zoom in the first place: after his mistake at Vera on 31 Aug 1813 (for which he was heavily criticised) he gave up his command in Spain and returned to England.
