Additional reference - can't work out how to get this into the current text "No. 30011". The London Gazette. 6 April 1917. {{cite magazine}}: Check date values in: |date= (help) — this apparently covers his substantive majority during WWI, preceded by being granted actign rank "No. 30011". The London Gazette. 17 November 1916. {{cite magazine}}: Check date values in: |date= (help).
