GA Reassessment[edit]

Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch
As part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles' Project quality task force, all old good articles are being re-reviewed to ensure that they meet current good article criteria (as detailed at WP:WIAGA. I have determined that while overall this article is very good, it needs some minor upkeep to retain its status.

  • There are a bunch of one or two-sentence quasiparagraphs that need to be merged, expanded, or cut (by definition, a paragraph requires at least three paragraphs.)
  • The line "He is sometimes referred to as John of Antioch, though that name more properly refers to the bishop of Antioch named John." appears in the lead, but is not verified anywhere in the body.
  • There are many sections with trailing sentences that are unsourced (ex. "Treatises", et al.) In addition, "Liturgy" is entirely unsourced.
  • File:Zlatoust.jpg needs the death date of the author for the licensing tag to be valid, or else a date of publication so that it can be verified pre1923 pd.

I am putting the article on hold pending the rectification of the above concerns. Keep me appraised on this page. Thanks, Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 17:28, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll get to work on these items for this GAR. Majoreditor (talk) 01:10, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've added citations, merged some stubby paragraphs, removed the comment about "John of Antioch" from the lead and honed the prose in some sections. Some additional work remains, such as the photo license. I'll try to work on the remaining items during the next week. Majoreditor (talk) 00:50, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The note on the Zlatoust image indicates that it was first published in 1882 (pre-1923) and uses the PD-old template. Hopefully that will do; if not, we can either remove the image or have someone change the license. Majoreditor (talk) 16:05, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is the PD-old template doesn't work if we don't know the author. We need to know when the picture was published, not just when it dates from, to make sure it's free. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 18:33, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I found a link to this website but I don't read Russian and can't tell if it includes additional information on the image. The image can be removed from the article until licensing issues are resolved. Majoreditor (talk) 22:10, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll get to a final readthrough some time this weekend. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 22:31, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late response... I think most of my issues have been addressed, so I will pass the article as swept. Good job. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 21:14, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
