Personal life[edit]

Personal life: yeah, especially the "favorite color" part is [redacted] important in an encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.207.123.38 (talk) 13:19, 29 September 2008‎ (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

For this article to remain, we need an indication that Cooper is notable independent of the band (see WP:NBAND). The sources we have do not support this. The sources are about the band, not reliable and/or mere mentions of Cooper. I suggest a redirect to the band's article. - SummerPhDv2.0 20:53, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, and it's present. Several guest appearances in other works and multiple write-ups about the subject. I watched SummerPhDv2.0 (talk · contribs) redirect the rest of the band articles and mad no changes, but this one did not qualify. BLPSOURCES? Yes! Notability tag (lazily added I must add, nope). Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:37, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That "lazily" added tag is intended to draw attention to this discussion.
Your three word revert summary says that you disagree and, after the lazy tag and lazy attempt to discuss the issue, your comment above seems to obliquely claim that you feel he meets NBAND #1 independent of the band. (Actually, it's more that it is quite clear that he does not meet #2 - 12. #1 is my guess.)
As I've indicated, the sources don't seem to cover that. #1 is about the band. #2 is a MySpace page. #3 is a bare mention. #4 is a fishing site. #5 is about the band. #6 is a link to a festival home page. #7 is a dead link to a fan site for the band. #8 is a YouTube video from the band, about the band. #9 is my favorite: a dead link to a blog (by "Laura Genn Homeschooled") about the band. Where are these independent reliable sources about his notability independent of the band?
Having found that the sources and article content do not meet NBAND, I redirected. You "disagree". I lazily tag the article and lazily start a discussion. You disagree, "it" is there.
Please clarify. What is where? - SummerPhDv2.0 16:08, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cooper was a featured vocalist on the TobyMac song Tonight. Since the song charted, he's meets notability criteria. RoyalbroilAlt 15:13, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That would shore up TobyMac's notability, not Cooper's. - SummerPhDv2.0 16:13, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It proves that he has "demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band". Besides charting, the single received rotation by major national radio networks such as K-LOVE and Air1. So his work independent of the band meets points #2 and #11 of WP:MUSICIAN. Add a bibliography[edit]

John Cooper has co-authored two graphic novels over the last year and a half; Eden and Eden II: The Aftermath. He also recently announced that he wrote a book titled, Awake and Alive To Truth, which he will be self-publishing in early December 2020. Since he's written, three separate books I was thinking a bibliography section should be added to his page. WilliamVanDeKamp (talk) 01:41, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@WilliamVanDeKamp: Feel free to be bold and add it. I suggest formatting them the way that the works in N. T. Wright#Selected works or C. S. Lewis#Secondary works are, complete with an ISBN as that will make referencing unnecessary. However, if the works were widely reviewed, then you could add a section including a summary of two or three of them. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:49, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@WilliamVanDeKamp: You did not make it the way I suggested. You should be using the {{Citation}} with all the parameters and the ISBN value supplied. Is there any way you can make that change? Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:52, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
